Ship Launching Project in Port Klang, Malaysia
Our factory based in Qingdao, Shandong Province supplied a full set of customized inflatable marine airbags to a medium-sized shipyard located in Port Klang, Malaysia in early 2026. The local shipbuilder needed flexible launching equipment for 800-ton workboats, but the dock lacked fixed concrete slipways and large gantry cranes, which brought high construction costs and construction cycle pressure. After technical communication, our engineering team recommended 6-layer reinforced marine airbags with customized diameter and length matching the hull tonnage. Delivered from Qingdao port to Port Klang via sea freight, the airbags passed local marine third-party pressure and load tests before put into use. Relying on the rolling bearing performance of inflatable airbags, the shipyard successfully completed launching of 4 vessels within one month. Compared with traditional fixed slipway construction, the project cut over 40% of infrastructure investment and shortened the whole construction period significantly. Up to now, these Qingdao-manufactured marine airbags have been reused more than 70 times without air leakage, cracking or deformation under frequent tidal and rough ground working conditions. The customer has placed a repeat bulk order for next batch of fishing vessel manufacturing projects, and recognized our products’ durability and cost advantages for Southeast Asian shipbuilding operations.
