Singapore Port Cargo Vessel Salvage Case Study

Singapore – October 2025 – Hongruntong Marine, with over 30 years of experience in marine equipment manufacturing, successfully executed a shallow-water cargo vessel salvage operation in a busy Singapore port using its cylindrical underwater lifting bags.

Project Background
A 700-ton cargo vessel had partially sunk near a dock, obstructing port operations. Space was limited, and traditional cranes could not safely access the site. The salvage team required a precise, safe, and space-efficient lifting solution.

Solution Provided by Hongruntong Marine
Six cylindrical underwater lifting bags (2.0 meters diameter, 12 meters length) were deployed. The bags’ reinforced multi-layer steel and synthetic rubber construction ensured stability, high load capacity, and corrosion resistance.

Execution
Divers positioned the bags under the submerged hull. Inflation was gradual, lifting the vessel incrementally to minimize hull stress. Low-friction surfaces protected the hull coatings. Real-time monitoring allowed precise pressure adjustment during the lift.

Result
The vessel was safely lifted and moved to a secure location within three hours, resuming port operations with minimal disruption.
